The Metal Ceiling Grid Channel MF5 is a structural component designed for creating suspended ceiling systems. Measuring 3600mm in length, this channel acts as the main fixing section where Plasterboard is securely attached. It forms a rigid and level framework, allowing for the installation of flat or curved ceilings in both domestic and commercial applications.
During installation, the MF5 furring channel is fitted perpendicularly beneath the main support channels to create an interconnected metal grid. Once the framework is established, ceiling boards are screwed directly into the wide flange of the channel. This setup establishes a void above the ceiling surface, providing ample space to conceal electrical wiring, ductwork and insulation materials.
Made from galvanised steel, the channel offers high resistance to corrosion and ensures structural stability over time. It provides an efficient method for levelling uneven soffits while maintaining compatibility with standard drylining systems. Using this component as part of an MF ceiling setup helps improve the acoustic and thermal properties of a room without adding excessive weight to the building structure.
