Consistent Tile Joints and Level Surfaces

Tile spacers and packers keep joints consistent while adhesive cures. They make it easier to hold a planned layout across walls and floors, particularly where small errors would otherwise accumulate across several rows.

Select spacer thickness from the tile specification, room conditions and relevant guidance. Position pieces so they can be removed before grouting unless the product is designed to remain in place. The wider tiling tools range covers setting-out and finishing equipment.

Spacers control joint width but cannot flatten an uneven background. Prepare the surface, use the correct tile adhesive, and check each course with a level. Once cured and cleared, fill the joints with compatible tile grout.

Spacers & Packers FAQ's

Follow the tile and installation specification. Tile size, edge accuracy, location and relevant standards all affect the joint width.

Standard cross spacers are normally removed once the adhesive holds the tiles. Follow the product instructions.

Ordinary spacers control gaps, not surface height. Levelling clips and wedges are separate tools for suitable installations.

The quantity depends on tile size, layout and whether spacers are reused or left in place during curing.

Poor setting out, variable tile dimensions, adhesive movement or inconsistent spacer placement can alter the joints.
