Double Panel Radiators
Double convector radiators, often referred to as Type 22 panel heaters, feature two steel panels and two sets of convector fins to boost heat output. These radiators are commonly used in central heating systems across homes, offices, conservatories and larger rooms where a reliable, even heat output is required. Made to standard EN 442, they offer compatibility with most boilers and pipework setups.
These radiators work by circulating hot water through both panels, which then radiate heat, while the fins promote airflow (convection) to warm the space more quickly and evenly. The increased surface area means faster heat up times compared with single panel designs, making them a practical choice for spaces that lose heat quickly or have higher ceilings.
One of the key advantages of double convector radiators is their ability to deliver strong heat output without significantly increasing their footprint on the wall. Installation is straightforward using standard wall mount brackets, and many models include components such as fixing sets, bleeds and thermostatic valve compatibility. They offer a balance of efficiency, space saving design and reliable performance while meeting accepted industry standards.
