Paint Grade Internal Doors for a Custom Colour Finish

When the door colour needs to match trim, cabinetry or a wider decorating scheme, a paint-grade leaf keeps the finish open. MacBlair stocks paint-grade internal doors in designs intended for preparation and coating before use.

Follow the door maker’s coating schedule rather than treating every leaf like bare timber. Prepare the surface, use the specified primer where required and finish all faces and edges within the recommended timescale. Thin, even coats leave a cleaner result around mouldings and panel detail.

Measure first and check the trimming limit before cutting. Choose door hinges for the leaf weight and pair them with handles and latches suited to the room. Where less finishing work is preferred, compare white primed doors from the internal range.

Paint Grade Internal Doors FAQs

It is a door intended to receive an opaque painted finish rather than display a natural timber surface.

That depends on how it is supplied. Follow the manufacturer’s preparation and coating schedule.

Seal and finish every face and edge required by the manufacturer to reduce uneven moisture movement.

Only within the stated allowance. Check before cutting, particularly with fire-rated or moulded doors.

Use a compatible, durable trim paint in the chosen sheen, following the primer and topcoat instructions.
