Instant Hot Water and Heating Without a Cylinder

A combination boiler provides central heating and heats mains water when a hot tap opens, removing the need for a separate hot-water cylinder. MacBlair stocks models for replacement and new heating work within the wider boiler range.

 

Heating output and hot-water performance are different figures. The installer should calculate the building heat loss, then check the domestic hot-water flow rate against the number of bathrooms and likely simultaneous use. Incoming mains pressure and flow can limit the result regardless of boiler rating.

 

A compact appliance can free storage space, but it is not automatically the best match for a home with several showers or baths used together. Where stored hot water is needed, compare cylinder-fed system boilers and the available hot-water cylinders.

 

Flue route, condensate drainage, gas supply and service access must be assessed before the model is ordered. Installation and commissioning require a Gas Safe registered engineer. If system debris is present, use the specified heating cleaners and inhibitor as part of the work.
