Door Stops

Control Door Travel with the Right Stop Position

A handle striking plaster or a door swinging beyond its safe travel causes avoidable damage. MacBlair stocks door stops to limit movement and protect nearby walls, fittings and hinges.

Select floor, wall or skirting mounting around the door arc and the strength of the substrate. The stop should meet a solid part of the leaf or handle without creating a trip hazard.

Open the door carefully to establish the stopping point before drilling. Keep the stop clear of walkways and check that it does not obstruct the required opening width. Check the wider door furniture range for compatible parts, and match the fixing arrangement with suitable door hinges where the installation requires them.

Door Stops FAQ's

Position it to stop the door before the handle or leaf hits the wall, while keeping it out of the main walkway.

Choose from the available fixing surface, door geometry and trip risk.

Poor placement can mark a weak panel. Arrange contact against a firm area and use the stop as directed.

A stop must not prevent required closing or interfere with the certified doorset.

Move the door through its full arc, confirm clearances and mark the point before drilling.
