The Simpson Strong-Tie WTS2-275 is a 275mm Type 2 stainless steel wire wall tie designed for masonry-to-masonry connections. It provides lateral support across wall cavities ranging from 126mm to 150mm. This tie is suitable for general-purpose applications in domestic and small commercial buildings up to 15m in height.
During bricklaying, the wall ties are embedded directly into the mortar joints of both the inner and outer masonry leaves. A minimum embedment of 50mm is required on each side to ensure structural integrity, with typical site installations achieving between 62.5mm and 75mm. Standard installation requires a density of at least 2.5 ties per square metre, typically spaced at 900mm horizontal and 450mm vertical centres, staggered across the wall area.
Made from austenitic stainless steel, the WTS2-275 provides intrinsic corrosion resistance for long-term structural stability. It is classified as an M2 (iv) tie, suitable for use in flat sites with a basic wind speed up to 31m/s and an altitude of up to 150m above sea level.
