The Simpson Strong-Tie FT150 Frame Tie is a metal component used for securing window and door frames to masonry. It features a profiled design that provides enhanced mortar keying, ensuring a secure connection when installed within a solid masonry wall. The edges of the tie are finished safely to reduce the risk of injury during handling and installation on site.
This frame tie is made from 1mm thick galvanised steel, offering essential corrosion resistance for standard building applications. The product includes pre-punched holes on the flange, consisting of two 4.1mm holes and one 6mm hole, to accommodate standard mechanical fixings. For the product to function correctly, the tie must be fully embedded into the mortar joint during the building process.
Please note that the FT150 variant is explicitly not suitable for cavity wall construction. This component belongs to the wider
