ECOSE® Technology is Knauf's unique, bio-based binder used in their glass mineral wool products. It contains no added formaldehyde or artificial colours, making the insulation softer to touch, significantly less dusty, and much more environmentally friendly than traditional fibreglass insulation.

Knauf Loft Roll Insulation
Improve your home's thermal efficiency with Knauf Loft Roll 44, a premium glass mineral wool insulation designed specifically for cold lofts and pitched roofs. Manufactured with ECOSE® Technology, it provides exceptional thermal performance, helping to reduce heat loss and lower your energy bills. These insulation rolls are pre-perforated for quick, hassle-free installation between standard timber joist spacings.

Features a thermal conductivity of 0.044 W/mK to maximise energy efficiency.

Partially cut to fit securely between 400mm or 600mm joist centers, minimising site waste.

Euroclass A1 fire rating provides the highest level of fire safety for your home.

Made with formaldehyde-free ECOSE® Technology for a softer, lower-dust handling experience.
Knauf OmniFit Insulation
Knauf OmniFit is the ultimate multi-purpose insulation, engineered for outstanding thermal and acoustic performance across a wide variety of applications. Available in both flexible rolls and semi-rigid slabs, the OmniFit range is the perfect solution for internal stud walls, timber or metal framing, and suspended timber floors. Its dense structure provides excellent sound absorption, making it ideal for reducing noise transfer between rooms while maintaining optimal indoor temperatures.

Ideal for use in timber frames, metal studs, pitched roofs, and internal partition walls.

High density significantly reduces airborne sound transmission between rooms.

Slabs and rolls are designed to grip tightly between studs, preventing slumping and air gaps.

OmniFit 35 Slabs offer a low thermal conductivity of just 0.035 W/mK.
Knauf Wall Insulation
Our Knauf Wall Insulation range features FrameTherm for external thermal efficiency and Acoustic Rolls for superior noise reduction. Both options are designed to friction-fit seamlessly within your internal stud walls or separating floors for a quick, draft-free installation.

High-performance glass mineral wool tailored for both external thermal retention and internal acoustic dampening.

Acoustic Rolls are specifically dense and designed to absorb noise in internal stud walls and intermediate floors.

FrameTherm rolls deliver low thermal conductivity to help meet stringent building regulations for exterior walls.

Pre-sized to snap perfectly between standard 400mm or 600mm timber studs, eliminating drafts and site waste before you apply your plasterboard.

Knauf Loft Roll 44 is specifically designed for use in cold lofts at ceiling level. It is meant to be laid flat between and over joists. OmniFit, on the other hand, is a denser, multi-purpose insulation designed to friction-fit securely into vertical or horizontal spaces, like timber stud walls and suspended timber floors, providing both thermal and acoustic benefits.
Yes. The majority of Knauf's glass mineral wool range, including Loft Roll 44, OmniFit, and FrameTherm, achieves a Euroclass A1 non-combustible reaction to fire rating. This is the highest possible certification, providing maximum fire safety for your build.
While Knauf's ECOSE® binder makes their rolls noticeably softer and less itchy than older insulation types, standard PPE is still highly recommended. You should wear gloves, a long-sleeved top, protective goggles, and a face mask, especially when working in enclosed or poorly ventilated spaces like a loft.
Current building guidelines generally recommend a total loft insulation depth of 270mm to 300mm. A common way to achieve this is by installing a 100mm Knauf Loft Roll between the existing timber joists, and then cross-laying a thicker 170mm or 200mm roll at right angles over the top to eliminate thermal bridging.
