Knauf FrameTherm 40 Roll is a glass mineral wool insulation roll designed for use in timber frame applications. It is supplied in 140mm thickness and comes ready-cut into two 570mm widths to match standard timber stud spacings. This configuration allows for straightforward installation on site while covering an area of 9.143m2 per pack.
The insulation is designed to friction fit between timber studs, which helps to prevent air movement and infiltration, thereby minimising heat loss. It can be used for both internal and external applications, making it suitable for pitched roofs at rafter level and timber frame walls.
Knauf ECOSE Technology is used in the production process, incorporating a bio-based binder in place of added formaldehyde. The material is non-combustible, holds a Euroclass A1 reaction to fire classification, and achieves a thermal conductivity of 0.040W/mK. It is compression packed and lightweight, ensuring efficient handling and movement around sites.
