The 1650mm Keystone SK-90 functions as a standard load cavity wall lintel, providing essential structural support above window and door openings. Specified for external walls, this steel lintel is designed for use within a cavity width between 90-105mm. It accommodates a standard 102mm outer leaf alongside a 100mm inner blockwork leaf, making it a critical load-bearing component in traditional masonry builds.
During installation, blockwork must be laid flush against the inner face of the steel lintel. A mortar bed is required on top of the blockwork before any floor units are placed, which ensures the structural load is distributed evenly. It is recommended to prop the lintel during the build to support construction speed while the surrounding mortar sets.
