The 1500mm Keystone SK-90 serves as a standard load cavity wall lintel, providing essential structural support above window and door openings. It is specified for external walls with a cavity width between 90-105mm. This steel lintel accommodates a 102mm outer leaf and a 100mm inner blockwork leaf, functioning as a vital load-bearing element in traditional masonry builds.
During the building process, blockwork is laid flush against the inner face of the lintel. A mortar bed is required on top of the blockwork before positioning any floor units, ensuring the structural load is evenly distributed. Propping the lintel is advised to support construction speed while the surrounding mortar sets.
