The Keystone SK-90 is a standard load cavity wall lintel designed for structural support over window and door openings. Measuring 1200mm in length, it is specified for external walls with a cavity width between 90-105mm. This component accommodates a 102mm outer leaf and a 100mm inner blockwork leaf, serving as a primary load-bearing solution in conventional masonry projects.
During installation, blockwork is laid tight against the inner face of the lintel. A mortar bed is then placed on top of the blockwork before any floor units are positioned, ensuring the load is distributed evenly. It is recommended to prop the lintel to increase the speed of construction while the surrounding masonry cures.
Formed from galvanised steel, the SK-90 meets the necessary thermal performance requirements outlined in UK Building Regulations. At a length of 1200mm, it supports a safe working load, Total UDL 3:1, of 12kN and weighs 7.15kg. These specifications offer an exact balance of load-bearing capacity and manual handling safety on the building site.
- Formed from galvanised steel to provide corrosion resistance in cavity walls.
- Fits a cavity width of 90-105mm for use in standard masonry applications.
- Carries a safe working load of 12kN at a 3:1 ratio for structural stability.
- Weighs 7.15kg to allow for manageable manual handling during installation.
- Complies with UK Building Regulations for mandated thermal performance.
