The Simpson Strong-Tie TCP50 is a 50mm structural metal connector designed to attach girders, trusses, and rafters to wall plates. By securing these timber components, the clip provides necessary wind restraint and resists uplift forces wherever one structural member crosses another. It acts as a tie-down in timber framed roofs and general framing applications.
Made from 0.9mm pre-galvanised mild steel, this clip is engineered to connect 50mm wide timbers with structural stability. It incorporates a speed prong feature, which allows for temporary attachment and positioning before securing it permanently. This design helps align the clip accurately, reducing installation time and effort on site. Obround holes are also integrated into the design to facilitate easier and faster nail driving.
Installation requires the use of all specified N3.75x30 fasteners to achieve the stated load capacities, holding up to 3.3kN in characteristic capacity. The product meets CE marking standards and holds a European Technical Assessment to ensure compliance with current building regulations.
