The Simpson Strong-Tie DSTC50 is a double-sided toothed plate timber connector designed to enhance bolt performance in timber structures. It provides a secure structural connection between timber sections by distributing the load evenly across the joint. The double-sided design allows the toothed profile to embed into both adjacent timber faces simultaneously.
Installation requires placing the connector between two timber members before bolting them together. As the bolt tightens, the teeth are pressed directly into the wood on both sides. This creates a solid, shear-resistant joint that improves the overall load-bearing capacity of the bolted connection. The connector features a 17mm central bolt hole and two 4mm nail holes to aid positioning during assembly.
Produced from pre-galvanised mild steel, the plate offers resistance against corrosion in internal and covered external applications.
