The 2100mm Keystone SK-90 is a standard load cavity wall lintel designed to carry masonry above window and door openings. Specified for external walls, this structural component is suitable for a cavity width between 90-105mm. It is designed to accommodate a 102mm outer leaf alongside a 100mm inner blockwork leaf, acting as an essential load-bearing element in traditional masonry builds.
During installation, blockwork must be laid flush against the inner face of the steel lintel. A continuous mortar bed is required on top of the blockwork before floor units are positioned, which helps to ensure the heavy structural load is distributed evenly. Propping the lintel is recommended to aid construction speed while the surrounding mortar sets. Formed from galvanised steel, the SK-90 satisfies the thermal performance criteria detailed by UK Building Regulations.
