Kandla Grey porcelain paving is a 20mm thick outdoor surfacing solution that replicates the appearance of natural grey sandstone. Made from vitrified porcelain, this tile offers a water absorption rate of less than 0.5%, restricting the growth of moss and algae. It is supplied in a 600x900mm rectangular format, making it suitable for creating large uniform areas in exterior environments.
These tiles are commonly used for external ground surfaces such as patios, pathways, and courtyards. The surface features an R11 anti-slip matt finish, providing essential grip underfoot in wet and dry conditions. Due to the inherent density of porcelain, the tiles are resistant to frost, stains, and scratching, ensuring longevity in varied weather conditions.
Installation requires a solid sub-base and the application of a porcelain primer to the reverse of each tile to ensure adequate adhesion. The tiles should be laid on a full contact mortar bed or fixed using suitable exterior tile adhesives. When cutting is required, a specialised diamond blade designed for vitrified porcelain must be used to prevent chipping and ensure clean edges.
