Sliding Door Systems for Space-Saving Openings

Removing the swing arc can free useful floor area, but the door still needs clear travel and firm support. MacBlair stocks sliding door systems for suitable internal openings where a sliding leaf suits the layout.

Match the system to leaf weight, thickness and width. Check track length, wall or ceiling structure, handle clearance, guides and the space needed beside the opening when the door is fully open.

Set the track level and use fixings rated for the supporting material. Guides prevent the lower edge wandering; stops must be positioned before the door can run beyond the track. Check the wider door furniture range for compatible parts, and match the fixing arrangement with suitable door hinges where the installation requires them.
