Bostik EMP Mortar Plasticiser 5L is a liquid admixture formulated from an aqueous solution of modified, lignin-based surface-active agents. It is designed to improve the plasticity of mortar without the addition of lime, making it suitable for bricklaying, pointing, blockwork, renderings, and backing coats.
The formula works by entraining air into the mix, which reduces grittiness and provides a smoother mortar with improved adhesion to building substrates. It also imparts resistance to the effects of freezing during the setting phase, while minimising cracking and crazing once the mortar has cured. The product is supplied ready to use and complies with the EN934-3 standard for mortar admixtures.
