Tobermore Classica paving slabs are solid concrete flags designed for creating stable, even pedestrian surfaces such as garden pathways, patios, and outdoor utility areas. This specific version features a Golden colour option and measures 400mm in length, 400mm in width, with a 32mm thickness. The square format provides a straightforward layout that suits both modern and traditional garden designs. At 32mm thick, these flags are lighter and more manageable to handle during installation compared to deeper commercial slabs, making them a practical choice for domestic landscaping projects.
Each slab is produced with a smooth surface finish and features chamfered edges to reduce the risk of chipping during transport and laying. To assist with accurate positioning, the units feature built-in spacer nibs that automatically create uniform gaps between slabs for jointing sand. They are designed to be laid over a standard prepared sub-base and a compacted sand or mortar bedding layer.
The treatment process includes a minimum 12-hour vapour curing phase, which significantly reduces the appearance of white surface staining, also known as efflorescence. A hard-wearing surface layer measuring at least 4mm in thickness provides resistance to everyday foot traffic and patio furniture wear. Complying with the BS EN 1339 standard, these slabs offer reliable strength and a slip-resistant surface with an unpolished slip resistance value exceeding 45 USRV for safety in wet conditions.
