The Simpson Strong-Tie JHA270/75 is a standard-leg, height-adjustable joist hanger designed to support 75mm wide solid sawn timber joists from other timber members. Produced from pre-galvanised mild steel, this hardware component facilitates secure timber-to-timber connections in structural framing applications. It is suitable for Service Class 2 indoor environments and holds both CE marking and ETA certification.
Installation can be achieved using either a face-fix or wrap-over method, depending on the required load capacity and structural design. The hanger is designed to be secured using 3.75x30mm square twist nails. To assist with correct application, minimum and maximum nailing schedules are stamped directly onto the strap, providing clear guidance on site. A built-in location tab allows for accurate alignment before final fixing.
Several design features streamline the installation process. A speed-prong temporarily holds the hanger in position, removing the need to manually support the hanger, joist, and nail simultaneously. Additionally, the wider strap design increases the surface area against the supporting timber, allowing for wider nail spacing and improving the overall joint strength.
