Sika Water Sealer is a transparent water repellent formulated to prevent moisture penetration on porous mineral substrates, including brick, stone, pebbledash, and render. Based on silicone resin technology, it features a solvent-free and non-flammable composition. The liquid penetrates deeply into the treated surface to provide lasting water repellence while remaining unaffected by ultraviolet light.
It functions by reducing water absorption, causing rainwater to bead on the surface without forming a vapour barrier, ensuring the substrate can still breathe and naturally release moisture. The liquid appears milky white upon application but dries completely clear to maintain the original appearance of the treated area. It is suitable for application on dry or damp surfaces, though it must not be applied to actively wet or non-porous materials.
Application is carried out using a conventional garden sprayer, brush, or roller, working from the bottom up. Two coats are required for full protection; the second coat must be applied while the first remains damp, typically within one hour. Depending on the substrate's porosity, the sealer provides a coverage rate of 5 to 8m² per litre.
