SSQ's Riverstone Natural Uncalibrated Wall Cladding is made from genuine phyllite, a premium natural stone sourced from the SSQ quarry. Each pack covers 0.5 m² and includes 200 mm wide pieces cut in random lengths. This gives a varied and natural finish that works well on both small features and large wall spaces.
This slate cladding performs well in tough conditions. It doesn't absorb water easily, which means it's highly resistant to frost damage. Unlike some alternatives, Riverstone doesn’t contain dyes, so the colour stays consistent in strong sunlight. It holds its natural grey tone with no signs of fading or bleaching.
This cladding is also fire-safe. It’s classified as non-combustible, making it suitable for a wide range of projects. It’s also resistant to salt and acid, so it won’t break down in coastal or urban environments.
Installation is straightforward. Since the stone isn’t calibrated, each piece has slight thickness variation, which adds to the natural look. It's important to allow for that when planning, but the overall effect is well worth it. With the right adhesive and fixings, it stays firmly in place and requires very little upkeep once installed.
