Larsen Acrylic Primer is a water-based polymer emulsion designed to prepare porous and difficult substrates prior to tiling, screeding, or applying levelling compounds. Supplied as a pink liquid, this primer is coloured to clearly indicate areas that have been treated, ensuring even coverage across the floor or wall. It is frequently utilised to seal gypsum plasters and screeds before the application of cement-based adhesives, preventing rapid moisture loss and subsequent bonding failures.
The primer acts by penetrating the substrate, which consolidates loose dust and improves the overall adhesion of the subsequent layers. Depending on the specific application, it can be applied neat to act as a surface sealer or diluted with an equal quantity of water to serve as a general primer. The solution is applied using a standard brush or roller and sets rapidly, becoming touch dry in under an hour on highly porous surfaces.
This product accommodates standard internal construction environments and is compatible with heated concrete and cement screeds operating up to a maximum surface temperature of 35°C. Supplied in a 5L bottle, it provides extensive coverage for larger areas; when applied undiluted, a 5L unit covers approximately 35 to 50m², increasing to 70 to 100m² when diluted at a 1:1 ratio.
- Coloured pink to provide a clear visual indication of treated surface areas.
- Consolidates dust and improves adhesion for tile adhesives and screeds.
- Functions neat as a surface sealer or diluted 1:1 with water for priming.
- Delivers coverage of 35 to 50m² per 5L container when applied undiluted.
- Compatible with heated concrete floors operating up to 35°C.
