The Simpson Strong-Tie JHM225/100 is a masonry joist hanger designed to support solid sawn timber, structural trusses, and engineered joists. Formed from 2mm thick pre-galvanised mild steel, this specific variant accommodates 100mm joist widths and is compatible with standard 225mm joist heights.
This structural component creates a load-bearing connection between flooring systems and masonry walls or steel beams up to 12.5mm thick. When sourcing joist hangers and struts for building projects, the JHM series transfers the downward force from floor joists directly into the supporting blockwork or steel I-beam to ensure a stable framework.
During installation, the top flange is built into the mortar joint, utilising its raised embossments and drilled holes to improve structural mortar keying. The extended top flange provides a wide contact area on the masonry support, while the heightened side flanges increase resistance to joist rotation. A built-in inspection slot at the base allows for visual assessment from the ground to verify correct joist seating once the hanger is installed.
- Formed from 2mm pre-galvanised mild steel to provide corrosion resistance.
- Measures 225mm x 100mm to accommodate wider structural timber joists.
- Built-in base slot allows ground-level visual inspection of the seated joist.
- Raised top flange embossments and holes increase structural mortar keying.
- Heightened side flanges provide measurable resistance to joist rotation.
