The Irwin Blue Groove 6X Wood Drill Bit Set contains six flat wood boring bits designed for rapid drilling through timber. This set comprises sizes 16mm, 18mm, 20mm, 22mm, 25mm, and 32mm, which accommodates various standard hole-boring tasks. Each tool has a total length of 165mm, allowing it to fit easily between standard architectural studs and within enclosed structural spaces.
Every bit operates using a self-feeding full screw tip that automatically pulls the cutting head through the material, minimising the physical force required from the operator. The Tri-Flute design accelerates chip ejection during rotation, preventing material blockage and reducing binding within the borehole. Additionally, three cutting spurs score the outer diameter of the hole to provide clean entry points and minimise timber breakout upon exit.
These bits feature full length heat treatment to ensure rigidity and straight tracking under high torque loads. Equipped with a standard 1/4" grooved hex shank, the items prevent slipping within standard chucks and are fully compatible with impact drivers and quick-change extensions.
- Tri-Flute design provides fast chip ejection to prevent binding during use.
- Full screw tip draws the bit through timber to improve boring accuracy.
- Heat-treated steel blades resist structural bending under high torque.
- Triple cutting spurs produce clean holes with reduced breakout on exit.
- Grooved 1/4" hex shank prevents slipping in standard quick-change chucks.
