Dergview FC Awarded Building Materials to Upgrade Facilities Through Our £120,000 Building Support Fund
At MacBlair, we are proud to announce in partnership with the Irish Football Association that Dergview FC is the latest club to receive support through the MacBlair Building Support Fund.
As one of Northern Ireland’s leading builders’ merchants, we are the official builders’ merchant partner of the Irish Football Association. This initiative is a three-year commitment where we are giving away up to £120,000 worth of building materials.
Enhancing Safety at Darragh Park
The Castlederg-based club successfully applied for funding to renovate their facilities at Darragh Park. We are providing the materials to help the club with two primary goals:
- Replacing storm-damaged perimeter fencing to restore site security.
- Installing new kerbing and edging to improve overall site access.
Following recent storms, the previous fencing had become unstable, and the lack of defined pathways created safety and access challenges for players, supporters, and visitors. We are supplying these materials directly through our local MacBlair branch in Strabane.
A Visit to Darragh Park
Our representatives, Owen Falconer and Ryan Orr, recently visited Darragh Park alongside Irish Football Association representative Stephen Bogle to present the club with a commemorative plaque.
Ryan Orr, our Regional Sales Manager, shared his thoughts on the project:
"I am delighted to confirm Dergview FC as a recipient of support from the MacBlair Building Support Fund. The club demonstrated a clear need for these improvements, particularly in relation to safety and accessibility, and outlined a well-considered plan to deliver meaningful benefits for players, supporters, and the wider community."
How to Apply
We encourage other clubs across Northern Ireland to follow Dergview FC’s lead and apply for support. Clubs can apply for the Building Support Fund directly through the Irish Football Association website.
