The DeWalt 18V starter kit comprises one 5Ah XR lithium-ion battery and one multi-voltage charger. The DCB184 5Ah battery provides a power source for cordless tools within the DeWalt 18V XR platform, offering increased runtime capacity without increasing the overall pack size when compared to standard 3Ah units. An integrated LED charge indicator displays remaining power levels to assist with task scheduling.
The included DCB1104 multi-voltage charger supports both 12V and 18V XR lithium-ion batteries, alongside the Powerstack range. Operating at a 4A charging current, it replenishes depleted cells while using temperature and voltage control systems to prevent overcharging or overheating. The charger features a diagnostic LED display to communicate the current charging status and includes built-in screw mounts for wall installation.
