The Countersunk Self-Drilling Light Wing Screw 5.5mm x 65mm is designed to fasten timber to light-gauge steel. Made from durable steel and finished with a bright zinc coating, these screws resist corrosion, making them suitable for both indoor and outdoor applications.
The countersunk head allows the screw to sit flush with the timber surface, providing a neat finish. The wings ream out the timber as the screw is driven in, preventing the threads from binding in the wood. Once the screw reaches the steel, the wings shear off, allowing the threads to tap into the metal securely. This design eliminates the need for pre-drilling.
Measuring 5.5mm in diameter and 65mm in length, these self drilling screws are ideal for attaching timber up to 32mm thick to steel sections ranging from 1.2mm to 3.0mm in thickness.
