Bostik Cementone PVA is a multi-purpose building liquid that functions as an adhesive, primer, admixture, bonding agent, and surface sealer. Based on a polyvinyl acetate emulsion, it is supplied as a white liquid that dries to form a transparent film. It is designed for interior use within dry service conditions and is suitable for a wide variety of preparation and finishing tasks.
As an adhesive, it bonds most building materials provided at least one surface has a degree of porosity. This includes timber, plywood, chipboard, brick, concrete, stone, and slate. When used as a primer or admixture, it improves the adhesion and workability of cement mortars, renders, gypsum plasters, and screeds. It also operates as a highly effective dustproofer for interior concrete floors and plaster surfaces.
Application is straightforward using a brush, roller, or spreader. Depending on the task, it can be applied undiluted or diluted with water. For bonding applications, surfaces must be joined while the adhesive is still wet or tacky. When utilised as a primer on porous substrates, it must be allowed to dry completely before the next stage of work begins.
- Functions as a primer, admixture, bonding agent, adhesive, and dustproofer.
- Bonds timber, brick, concrete, and plaster where one surface is porous.
- Dries to a transparent film to maintain a clean finish on applied surfaces.
- Provides an undiluted coverage of 6 to 14m² per litre based on the substrate.
- Formulated for interior dry conditions with an open time of 5 to 10 minutes.
