Bostik Cementone Integral Waterproofer is a liquid additive designed to provide long-term water resistance to mortar, non-structural concrete, and rendering. Formulated as an alkaline soap of mixed fatty acids, the liquid reacts chemically with cement to form hydrophobic salts, which effectively reduce water penetration. It functions as both a waterproofer and a plasticiser, increasing the strength of the final mix without inhibiting vapour transfer.
The solution is applied in external or basement renderings, pointing, floor and roof screeds, as well as in swimming pools, sewers, and tank linings. By restricting moisture movement, the additive helps reduce efflorescence and lime bloom. It also controls the rate of evaporation, which limits crazing in rich mixtures.
The formula contains no corrosive elements, meaning it will not degrade reinforcing metalwork during application. While suitable for general building applications and protective coatings, it is not intended for use in structural concrete.
