Bostik Bituminous Mastic for Roofs is a fibre-reinforced, trowel-grade material designed for waterproofing, stopping, bedding, pointing, and sealing applications. It is supplied in a 5L tub and dries to a flexible black finish that remains soft and pliable long after application. This adaptability allows it to accommodate natural structural movements without cracking over time.
This mastic is compatible with a broad range of building materials, including mastic asphalt, roofing felt, corrugated iron, cast iron, fibre cement, slates, lead, copper, zinc, concrete, and timber. It provides immediate resistance to rainfall, making it effective for urgent roof repairs and general weatherproofing tasks. The formula is highly resistant to ongoing weathering, providing long-term protection against the elements.
Application is straightforward using a steel trowel or putty knife. It should be applied to a clean, dry surface to ensure optimal adhesion. The coverage rate is approximately 0.33m² per litre, and the product requires a 24-hour drying time under normal conditions.
