Bostik Bituminous Felt Adhesive is a cold applied, ready to use adhesive designed for bonding bituminous roofing felts. It is supplied as a black, viscous liquid based on a bitumen solution. The adhesive establishes a strong, flexible bond that hardens and softens with temperature changes, accommodating normal roof movement without compromising the seal.
It is suitable for bonding roofing felt to asphalt, existing felt, metal, and concrete surfaces. Additionally, the adhesive functions as a gritting solution to bond mineral chippings onto bituminous substrates.
Application requires a stiff brush, mop, or squeegee to spread an even coat across a clean, dry roof surface. The adhesive must be allowed to develop a tack, which typically takes between 15 minutes and one hour, before the felt is placed and rolled. Heavy applications or low temperatures will extend the overall drying time of 24 to 48 hours.
- Cold applied formulation removes the need for hot works or specialised heating.

- Remains flexible between 5°C and 50°C to withstand seasonal temperature changes.
