This black iron 1/2" male x female 90° elbow is for use with gas, steam and water applications and allows for two 1/2" threaded steel pipes to be connected together at a 90° angle. When connecting the pipe and fittings the thread needs to be sealed using either PTFE tape or a jointing compound which creates an air tight seal.
