Scottish Beach Pebbles 8-16mm Jumbo Bag contains naturally rounded and smoothed stones sourced from glacial river and tidal deposits. These pebbles are composed of a geological mix of quartzites, granites, and gneisses, providing structural strength and resistance to weathering. They are primarily utilised for ground cover, border decoration, planter mulching, and pathway surface dressing in external landscaping projects.
The pebbles can be laid directly onto a prepared substrate or a weed suppression membrane to prevent weed growth while allowing surface water to drain freely into the subsoil. Due to their smooth, well-rounded shape, they provide a stable surface suitable for foot traffic on walkways. This material is also suitable for integration into water features and ornamental ponds, as it does not affect water clarity or chemistry.
Graded within an 8-16mm size range, these aggregates display a diverse colour palette consisting of creams, browns, pinks, and greys when dry. Upon contact with water, these multi-coloured tones become accentuated, revealing deeper whites, dark greys, greens, and sandy beige hues.
