MacBlair's Viking Voyage
Ahoy, landlubbers! Prepare to be blown away by the fearless crew at MacBlair who recently set sail on an epic Viking boat race adventure. With a team of 10 colleagues channelling their inner warriors, we embarked on the good ship SOS (Stretch or Starve) on a valiant quest to conquer the waves, all in aid of our charity partner Aware NI, and in honor of our former colleague and 11thViking, the indomitable Mary Kelly.
The Viking boat race, organised by our amazing charity partner Aware NI, proved to be an exhilarating test of strength and teamwork, and while we crossed the finish line with an impressive time, unfortunately we didn’t claim the coveted first-place victory this time. But the team had a fantastic day & raised much needed funds to go towards Aware NI & the amazing work they do within the local communities.
The team did manage to claim one victory with our hilarious social media coverage of the day, capturing the hearts and thumbs-up of online enthusiasts, earning us the esteemed "Best Social Media Post" award.
However, this Viking boat race was not solely about achievements and trophies. It was a poignant occasion for the MacBlair team to pay tribute to our beloved colleague, Mary Kelly. We have no doubt that Mary would be proud to see her colleagues venturing out into the unknown, embracing adventure, and making a positive difference in the world.

The team will be back on the water next month for the Community Rescue Service - Bann River Raft Race.
